Harvest. Yes we love to harvest, to see the fruits of our spring and summer labor. But September 6th is too early for the “last” harvest.  This year we had an early snow storm and so we spent the weekend harvesting anything that could not be covered for protection.
This season our porch trellis and garden beds worked hard and produced 22 butternut and 8 sugar pumpkins!  Also from the garden were loads of tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, kale (this survived the snow!), zucchini, yellow squash, beans and peppers.  Phew.  The kids were thrilled to finally pick all the produce they were told all summer long not to touch!  It was like Christmas!
